U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Texas John Bash, who was tapped by Attorney General Bill Barr to review the practice of unmasking, resigned from the Justice Department on Monday.
"This morning I submitted my resignation to the President and the Attorney General, effective Friday," Bash tweeted Monday. "Last month I accepted a position in the private sector."
Bash said he was "grateful" to President Trump and members of the U.S. Senate for "the opportunity to serve the people of Texas.
